Out and about (updated)

A visit to the museum for a rainy Friday afternoon.

(Still mulling over Churchland, but I doubt anyone is really interested.)
I'm still experimenting with regard to how to get accurate pictures to post; the one on the right [or on the bottom, depending on your screen] was scanned in, whereas I used a camera for the one of the left [or, on top]. The scanned image has the advantage of being square (among other things), but the one on the left captures the colors more accurately (although I'll admit that both were digitally tweaked).
Although I like developing Miro's world beyond the bare-bones black and white images, these are challenges I wasn't really expecting.

It's interesting that the scan doesn't retain the grain of the paper at all, while the photograph does. Must be something that the scanner accounts for automagically. I kind of like having the grain there, b/c it reminds me that these are actual drawings, but I don't like what the camera did in the lower L hand corner. Stephanie used to have a copy stand--basically a flat, smooth piece of particle board with lights and a camera mount attached--that could be used to minimize this kind of effect. You might see if you could find such a thing used somewhere...

I was thinking there might be additional settings on the scanner that I haven't found, but I've been thinking about making a setup like that. It hadn't even occured to me that they might make such a thing.
