Holy Saturday

As my regular readers know, many of my cartoons are not just based in real life, but use actual quotes. This one is from a student I had a while back. It was disappointing at the time, since I thought they'd like Nietzsche.
I've since learned.

The structure of Nietzsche's _Beyond Good and Evil_ is an arch, moving forward with a transfiguration of language from pedanticism to poetry, while the heart is a transformation of our understanding of ethics. Thus Nietzsche's magnum opus re-creates the transition from rule-bound Judaiam to an internalzied Law that is Spirit-filled. Dexter's rejection of the entire premise (which itself misses the important changes in use of language)is representative of the Roman Empire's response: we've killed the false messiah and thwarted the insurrection. What we have here is essentially an absence: no text, no commentary, and no assurance of anything to come.
